The Long Walk purports to describe the author’s escape from a Soviet prison camp in 1941. The author is a ghostwriter who was told the story by Slavomir Rawicz, a Polish Army officer who was captured after the Soviet invasion of Poland.
I was starting to believe the story of a harrowing journey until the alleged sighting of two “Yeti” in the Himalayan mountains. The Yeti is often described as the Abominable Snowman in Western popular culture. I could no longer suspend disbelief.
