Getting Started

My fiancé, friend, and always strong supporter, Debbie St. Clair, at the May 1976 Gonzaga Law School graduation ceremony. By this time, had received degrees from three colleges and universities, but I never went to any graduation ceremony until law school. It was a 1970s sign of the times to skip formal ceremonies.

January 14, 1977, Swearing-in Ceremony at Skagit County Superior Court, by Superior Court Judges Harry Follman and Walter “Jack” Deierlin. I was presented to the court by Kenney St. Clair, a Mount Vernon lawyer and Debbie’s uncle. In those days, the local bar attended the Ceremony and sat in the jury box.
